Most of us have a serious case of CoVID cabin fever. Right now, thinking about spending a week (or more!) in Mexico’s Sian Ka’an Biosphere is keeping me relatively sane. The pictures here are from my travels in the Biosphere and a vacation rental just a few miles north of Punta Allen.
Privacy and freedom surrounded by nature. The crystalline waters of the Caribbean. The beautiful lagoon of the Biosphere. A mile of private beachfront. Napping in a hammock gently rocked by the ocean breeze. Sitting on the patio with a margarita. Chef-cooked Mexican meals made from incredibly fresh ingredients. Caribbean lobster. Does this tempt you?

Why November and why Sian Ka’an? Because I hope by November it will be easy to get rapid tests before departure. It’s easy to get direct flights to Cancun so there’s less exposure in airport terminals. A private shuttle will take us to the Biosphere entrance in a van with operable windows. And from there, we can take a smooth, hour-long boat ride along the lagoons and canals — and avoid the badly potholed road! The house has six bedrooms and lots of different spaces to hang out in the fresh air. And the Sian Ka’an is a beautiful place! I’ve been there twice and they were both amazing experiences.
Activity Level: Low. Activities are not very strenuous, however, we expect that guests can enjoy two hours or more of walking and are sure-footed on a beach.
